Carey Stephenson has been a professional photographer for over 23 years.
Carey started her photographic career in the Professional Portrait aspect of photography in 1985. In 1990, Carey enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces as a Photographic Technician. She has had many opportunities in the military to develop and hone many photographic talents, some include technical and commercial type photography, environmental and studio portraits, photojournalism coverage of the military operations in Somalia (1992-1993) as well as various political and military venues (Halifax G7 Summit 1995, Her Majesty & the Queen Mother visit 1995, Ambassador visits from Argentina and Belgium, to name a few). Groups of every size (from 2 to 400 people) in every type of location possible!
From Jan 2000 to Dec 2002, she was an Aerial Photographer and Digital Specialist at the
Aerospace Engineering Test Establishment in Cold Lake, Alberta. Carey started taking wedding photographs in 1995.
Throughout her photography career, she has taken many related courses including Advanced Portraiture, Digital Conversion (Adobe Photoshop), Photojournalism, Night and Low Light and Wedding Photography.
She has won National awards for Portraiture and Digital Effects.
Carey is also a snowboarder and hiking enthusiast willing to do weddings almost anywhere!!!
Carey retired from the military in 2003 and is now enjoying life with her husband and 2 children in Fernie, British Columbia.
